MUSIC THEORY LESSONS

Most instrumentalists first encounter music theory at the point when they have reached Grade 5 on their main instrument, and wish to progress to Grade 6 and beyond. The ABRSM stipulates that in order to take a practical music exam higher than Grade 5, the candidate has to have passed Grade 5 Music Theory. This provides a solid theoretical foundation for the higher grades.

Jessica teaches music theory from Grade 1 to Grade 8, with special programmes for those wishing to take Grade 5 theory over one or two terms.

Jessica uses both TCL and ABRSM syllabuses.
